SUMMARY:Cherokee GA Democrats | Woodstock Christmas Jubilee & Parade of Lights
DESCRIPTION:Join the Cherokee Democrats as we walk in the Woodstock Jubilee & Parade of Lights. Please bring candy to pass out along the route. \nPlease sign up by clicking HERE\nPARADE LINE UP \nWHERE: Line up in the front parking lot at Woodstock Elementary School at 230 Rope Mill Road\, Woodstock. \nWHEN: 3:00 pm Line up begins – Any earlier\, you will not be allowed in. 5:00 pm Line up ends – Any later\, you will be turned away. 5:30 pm Parade start – Be ready. 7:15 pm. Parade end – Approximately. Please arrive as close to 3:00 pm as possible as everyone will need to sign a liability waiver. \nHOW: Order of lineup is first come\, first served. No requesting\, reserving\, or changing spots. Do not enter line up area prior to 3:00 pm. You will be asked to leave and re-enter. \nDROP OFFS: There will be no drop offs whatsoever in the parade lineup parking lot\, in front of the school\, or on the side of the road. Make arrangements prior to arrival. This includes riders\, decorations\, ice\, water\, candy\, etc. No exceptions! \nWALKERS & RIDERS: Walkers or riders in the parade must be dropped off at the back of the school and take the shortcut on the side of the building to join the line up at the front of the school. It is best to have a common meeting place where walkers and riders can meet and then join the float before getting in line. Do not attempt to drop children off at the front of the school – it is extremely dangerous. Parents must park across the street or behind the school and walk their children to floats already in line. \nPARADE ROUTE: The parade starts at Woodstock Elementary School at 230 Rope Mill Road and continues down Rope Mill Road to Main Street. It then travels south on Main Street and ends at Sam’s Club just before Highway 92 at 9464 Main Street. The route is approximately 1.3 miles long. \n  \nPARADE END \nTWO CHOICES: \n▪ Turn into Sam’s Club Parking Lot: − To drop off passengers and walkers. − To disassemble and make street safe your float. − Follow the float in front of you and move as far forward into the parking lot that you can. − Watch for staff to guide you. − Parking lot will be extremely crowded\, use caution. − You must exit the parking lot as quickly as possible as other floats will be pulling in behind you. Please do not hang out in this area\, keep kids close. \n▪ Drive Straight to Hwy. 92 (preferred): − If not unloading or disassembling. − If not dropping off passengers or walkers. − If safe to do so\, continue to drive straight down Hwy 5/Main St. or to Hwy. 92 to reach your destination. \n▪ We encourage all who safely can\, to continue driving so as not to congest the parking lot further as Sam’s Club will be open at that time. \n▪ You will not be allowed to leave the parade at any point other than the end at Sam’s Club. Doing so is dangerous and could cause serious injury to others in the parade. \n▪ You will not be invited back if you stop the parade enroute to unload your riders. This will be strictly enforced.

SUMMARY:Day of a Thousand Doors\, featuring Stacey Abrams!
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us on October 19th for a dynamic day of voter engagement at the “Day of a Thousand Doors” event\, in support of JD Jordan for State Senate district 56 and Micheal Garza for House of Representatives district 46. \nThis event will take place from 11:ooam to 4:00pm in Roswell/East Cobb. It is sponsored by the Georgia Senate Democratic Caucus\, has secured Voters of Tomorrow as the event’s phone banking partner\, and will feature an appearance by Stacey Abrams. \nThe purpose of this event is to bring together hundreds of volunteers from across our coalition to contact Democratic voters who we fear may not show up for this election\, and to also contact persuadable independents or moderates. This is a critical election where many disaffected Republicans may be voting for Democrats on the Federal level\, but we need to ensure that they also support us on the state level. \nWe are partnering with several campaigns and organizations to make this a significant event that will send a message in our competitive districts. In 2020\, President Biden earned 43% of the vote in State Senate District 56\, and he earned over 44% in State House District 46. \nWith your support\, we will mobilize an army of volunteers to contact over 2\,000 undecided voters living at 1\,000 doors in this pivotal region of the state. \nOur volunteers and staff will receive exclusive merchandise\, free food\, various refreshments\, volunteer trainings\, and entertainment from local musicians. We will be joined by several state and local Democratic leaders\, and we expect this to a be a day of action that brings people together from across the state! \nWe will welcome guests the day of without registration\, but we can only guarantee merchandise like t-shirts to volunteers who sign up by October 10th. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP.
