1) Sen. Ossoff Pressing for Competent Postmaster General to Solve Georgia Mail Delays
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is pressuring the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to recruit a competent Postmaster General who can address mail delays in Georgia.
Following the resignation of former Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, Sen. Ossoff is urging the USPS Board of Governors to replace him with leadership who can solve the continued delays with on-time mail delivery across Georgia.
“My constituents, and I cannot emphasize this strongly enough, are beside themselves at the consistent and recurring failure of USPS leadership to execute their basic mission in Georgia,” Sen. Ossoff wrote to the Board of Governors.
According to data released by USPS last month, Georgia District Overall First-Class Mail Service is 7.7% below the National Average

Last December, Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans & Democrats together to pass $21 billion in disaster relief for farmers in Georgia & nationwide
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff pressed President Trump’s Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins today to expedite Hurricane relief for Georgia farmers.
Today, in a U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies hearing, Sen. Ossoff called on USDA Secretary Rollins to expedite relief to Georgia farmers impacted by Hurricane Helene.
During the hearing, Sen. Ossoff shared stories from constituents like Arren Moses, owner of Moses Pecan in Uvalda, Georgia, who told Sen. Ossoff’s office, “we lost almost our entire 2024 pecan crop when Hurricane Helene hit our orchards. We lost the majority of our mature pecan trees, which will set our farm’s production back for years. We were thankful that Congress approved disaster assistance funding at the end of last year, but it’s critical that these funds get to those that need help.”

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff today pressed the Agriculture Secretary after the Trump Administration canceled a program that helps Georgia farmers sell fresh food to local schools.
Today, in a U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies hearing, Sen. Ossoff pressed Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins on the Trump Administration’s cancellation of the Local Foods for Schools Program (LFS) that helps Georgia farmers sell fresh food to local schools.
During his questioning, Sen. Ossoff cited Georgia school districts and farmers who say they rely on the program and pressed Rollins on why the Trump Administration canceled the program.
For example, Dawson County Schools Director of School Nutrition Scott Richardson told Sen. Ossoff’s office, “Over the past two years, participation in the LFS program has transformed our ability to bring healthy, fresh, and locally grown fruits and vegetables to our students. Prior to LFS, purchasing from local farmers was often cost-prohibitive due to pricing and transportation challenges. The LFS program alleviated those barriers, enabling our department to build direct partnerships with farmers in Dawson, Hall, Fannin, and Warren Counties, among others.”

Georgians who’ve been unable to purchase homes because of large, out-of-state companies are invited to share their story at ossoff.senate.gov/homestory
Video: Sen. Ossoff invites Georgians to share their stories
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is investigating large, out-of-state companies buying up Georgia homes and driving up home prices.
Today, Sen. Ossoff launched inquiries with several of the top companies nationwide that are purchasing single-family homes across the State of Georgia, raising prices for families and reducing the supply of family homes available for purchase.
In 2023, an investigation by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “American Dream for Rent,” detailed how out-of-state companies are buying up family homes and turning them into rental properties, driving up home prices and making it more difficult for families to purchase homes themselves.
According to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report last year, large companies now own 1 of every 4 single-family rental homes in metro Atlanta, the most impacted region in the country.
Now, Sen. Ossoff is launching an investigation and requesting more information from 4 major companies including about their home purchases in Georgia, how many single-family homes they own, fees being charged to renters, and more.
“Large out-of-state companies are buying up homes and pushing Georgia homebuyers out of the market,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I’m launching this investigation to get answers for Georgia families who are struggling to afford rent and homeownership.”

5) One Year Since Becoming Law, Sen. Ossoff’s Bipartisan REPORT Act Helping Protect Kids Online
NCMEC: “The REPORT Act, signed a year ago today, is already having a major impact on efforts to combat child sexual exploitation”
Washington, D.C. — According to a new study, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff’s bipartisan law to protect children online has helped uncover thousands of alleged crimes against children.
One year ago today, Sen. Ossoff’s bipartisan REPORT Act became law, which he introduced with Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).
Sen. Ossoff’s bipartisan law requires websites and social media platforms – for the first time – to report crimes involving Federal trafficking and enticement of children to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), a nonprofit that works alongside families, victims, law enforcement officials, and more to protect kids from abuse and exploitation.
According to a new analysis released today by NCMEC, thanks to Sen. Ossoff’s REPORT Act, child sex trafficking reports received by NCMEC’s CyberTipline in the first 3 months of 2025 have already exceeded the total child sex trafficking reports received in all of 2024.
In addition, online enticement reports to NCMEC’s CyberTipline rose from a monthly average of 42,230 in the last 6 months of 2024 to a monthly average of 69,636 for the first 4 months of 2025.
“The REPORT Act, signed a year ago today, is already having a major impact on efforts to combat child sexual exploitation by requiring online companies to report child sex trafficking and online enticement to NCMEC. We are seeing dramatic increases in CyberTipline reports relating to child sex trafficking and online enticement, which means law enforcement can investigate more of these heinous crimes and recover and safeguard more children who are being exploited,” said Michelle DeLaune, President & CEO of NCMEC. “We are grateful to Senator Ossoff for his support of NCMEC’s mission and the bipartisan REPORT Act sponsors for prioritizing this critical piece of legislation.”
Sen. Ossoff’s bipartisan law also requires evidence to be preserved for a longer period, giving law enforcement more time to investigate and prosecute crimes, and increases fines for companies that knowingly and willfully fail to report child sex abuse material on their site.

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working to ban political discrimination in the provision of Federal disaster assistance.
Today, Sen. Ossoff launched a push to pass the bipartisan Stopping Political Discrimination in Disaster Assistance Act to prohibit in Federal law any political discrimination when Federal agencies provide disaster assistance after a natural disaster.
The bipartisan bill was first introduced by Sen. James Lankford (R-OK).
“No American impacted by a natural disaster should ever, ever be denied assistance based on their political beliefs,” Sen. Ossoff said. “That’s why I helped introduce this bipartisan bill to prohibit in law political discrimination in the provision of Federal disaster assistance.”

Washington, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff met with Ilay David, whose brother Evyatar David remains in Hamas captivity in Gaza, to advocate for his urgent release.
Sen. Ossoff, alongside several synagogues and Jewish organizations across Atlanta, are “adopting” Evyatar’s case to spread the word and advocate for his immediate release.
Evyatar David was taken hostage by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, while attending the Nova Music Festival.
Sen. Ossoff, Ilay, and members of the Atlanta Jewish community discussed the urgent need to secure Evyatar’s release, along with all of the remaining hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza.
Sen. Ossoff highlighted his continued engagement through the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee in support of U.S. intelligence and diplomatic efforts to secure the release of those in the captivity of Hamas terrorists.
“Evyatar is 24-years-old. He loves playing guitar, he loves his family, he loves life. Today is his 580th day in a dungeon under Gaza. The time is now to bring him and all those held hostage home. Free Evyatar,” Sen. Ossoff said.
“My baby brother Evyatar is in a struggle to survive. This is not a time for political divisions, but a time to bring all people of good conscience together for Evyatar and all of the remaining hostages to be released out of Gaza. Thank you, Senator Ossoff, for your unequivocal and forthright support with this effort,” Ilay David said. “We have proof that my brother is alive but we know that time is running out. Now is the time for Hamas to let him go!”

Atlanta, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is urging the Trump Administration to ensure VA mass firings don’t lengthen wait times for Georgia veterans.
Sen. Ossoff requested more information from the Atlanta VA Medical Center about whether the Trump Administration’s mass firing of VA personnel has impacted Georgia veterans’ ability to access timely care at the Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC).
A recent report from the VA Office of the Inspector General outlined how inadequate staffing and hiring delays have been key drivers of delays in veterans’ ability to schedule appointments and access care in Georgia – before the Administration began firing employees.
“The VA’s Office of Inspector General has identified staffing shortages at your facility and implicated some of them in long wait times,” Sen. Ossoff wrote to Atlanta VAMC Director Kai Mentzer. “I am therefore deeply worried about the impact the Trump Administration’s mass firings of VA personnel will have on our veterans’ ability to receive timely access to healthcare at the Atlanta VAMC.”
Instead of supporting the Atlanta VAMC’s efforts to recruit qualified staff and resolve long wait times, the Trump Administration has ordered the VA to reduce their workforce by more than 80,000 people.
“Our veterans have earned timely and effective service from their government,” wrote Sen. Ossoff.“We want to ensure that no veteran will receive delayed care or face barriers to access care. To do so would betray the sacred compact we make with those who wear the uniform and undermines faith in our institutions.”

9) Sen. Ossoff Working Across the Aisle to Protect Kids’ Privacy Online
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working to strengthen protections for children and teens online.
Today, Sen. Ossoff is launching a push to pass the bipartisan Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0), legislation he co-sponsored to limit use of children’s information for individually targeted advertising.
The bipartisan bill would limit targeted advertising to children and teens while also empowering parents to have their children’s data wiped from the internet.
The bipartisan bill was originally introduced by Senators Ed Markey (D-MA) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA).
According to a 2023 report by the Atlantic, many apps used by 3- and 4-year-olds collect digital identifiers and many children’s apps contain more third-party trackers than those geared toward adults.
“This bill will restrict online spying and advertising targeting children and empower parents to take back control of their kids’ sensitive and private data,” Sen. Ossoff said. “That’s why I’m bringing Senators from both parties together to pass this bill.”
